The Bentley Mulsanne is named in honour of Le Mans’ Mulsanne Corner, which has seen six Bentley vehicles win first prize, and it was unveiled to the public in 2009. It succeeds the car of the same name, which was produced by the company throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, and is the first of Bentley’s flagship cars to be designed independently by the English manufacturer since 1930.

The Bentley Mulsanne perfectly fuses luxury car grandeur with innovative design, leading-edge craftsmanship and front-line technologies. The vehicle’s bearing perfectly reflects its power and status. An eye-catching front-end features a striking split grille flanked by powerful Bi-Xenon LED headlights and is crowned by the celebrated ‘Flying B’ bonnet ornament. Black-painted brake callipers adorn 20-inch alloy wheels. Around the back of the vehicle, twin-oval exhaust pipes and LED tail lights provide the Mulsanne with further features of distinction.

In total, 10 veneers are available for the Mulsanne with Burr Walnut and Piano Black featuring as standard. The polished wood permeates the cabin and can be found on centre consoles located at the front and rear, as well as front and rear roof consoles. A leather-lined rear centre armrest provides a 12V socket, plenty of storage and controls for air-conditioning and seating adjustment. The boot space has a capacity of 443 litres.

The powerful heart of the Bentley Mulsanne is a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine which provides up to 505bhp and a maximum torque of 1,020Nm at 1,750rpm. The vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0-100kph in 5.1 seconds and achieving a top speed of 270kph. Four selectable settings provide you with ways to optimise performance on a range of road surfaces. Air suspension comes with Continuous Damping Control, ensuring optimal distance between the body of the car and the axle.

An eight-inch screen provides all the satellite data you need to navigate your chosen route. Dials and gauges echo those used in Bentley vehicles of the past while subtly disguising the array of onboard technology.

Connection to iPods and a range of other portable devices is simple with USB, mini-USB and AUX ports. A six-CD auto-changer provides hours of audio entertainment, with all sound relayed through a 14-speaker audio system that utilises Digital Signal Processing.

Back-seat passengers can pass the time viewing twin eight-inch LCD screens that use a 20 GB hard drive and DVD player to provide plenty of video distractions. With the car’s Bluetooth connectivity and its ability to turn into a WiFi hotspot, you will always be connected, wherever you are.

Front and side-impact airbags are fitted as standard, as are seatbelt pre-tensioners ensure that everyone on board is kept secure in the event of a collision. Anti-lock Braking System optimises vehicle mobility when brake pressure is applied, even when a wheel stops rotating.

Stability Control automatically reduces engine power and/or applies the brakes so that you can maintain control of the car at all times. The engine can only be started with the correct Bentley key and will otherwise be immobilised, ensuring its security.
