The Pirelli Edition Aventador is the same size and shape as the model it is based upon but stands apart with a unique colour scheme. Choose from one of six glossy finishes for the rest of the body. The alternative look merges a glossy black colour for the car’s upper panels and air intakes to join one of four matte finishes. Triangular headlamps and vast, angular front air intakes look striking whatever the colour.
The cockpit complements the exterior perfectly. The dashboard, doors, centre console and sports seats are wrapped in black Alcantara upholstery stitched with a bold red thread. Carbon fibre housing covers the instrument panels behind a flat-bottomed steering wheel, while Pirelli branding is prominently displayed on the sides of the centre console and seats.
The engine remains unchanged from the non-Pirelli Aventador. Lamborghini’s advanced four-wheel drive system keeps the power of the 691bhp V12 engine (that generates 690Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm) under control. Torque is channelled to both axles by a seven-speed ISR gearbox that delivers power depending on the drive mode you select. There are three in total: Strada, Sport and Corsa. The gearbox can be left to shift automatically, or you can take control of gear changes using the shift paddles behind the wheel. The model can reach 60mph from a standing start in around 2.9 seconds at its quickest.
The cockpit is high-tech but not complicated, as its functions are easy to control and understand. The car’s onboard computer presents you with important driving information through a TFT instrument cluster which informs you without being confusing.
The thrill of the drive should be enough to keep you entertained, but you can play music from an iPod® or other device using the USB or auxiliary ports.
Bluetooth® connects a smartphone to the infotainment system for hands-free calls, and built-in satellite navigation helps to guide you to your destinations.
A supercar as fast as the Pirelli Edition Aventador needs intelligent safety systems to manage its massive amounts of power for your safety. The input of the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) depends on the drive mode you select, with the option to choose maximum support or less restrained engine output.
Whichever mode you are in, the hydraulic circuit brake system with vacuum brake booster will slow the car quickly from a high speed. ABS stops the wheels from locking if you need to make an emergency stop, so that you can steer away from a potential collision.
A strong and light carbon fibre monocoque frame offers protection from impact forces if you’re unlucky enough to be involved in an accident.
A limited run of Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Pirelli Edition models will be produced to celebrate the partnership between the two brands, so you should act quickly to secure your own. Speak to your nearest Al Ghassan Motors site about the features of the supercar and purchasing it.
